Full of courage and always does the right thing. Never gives up, no matter what!
Kinto is your first choice for a reason. He has an answer for everything, and none of them are complicated. Keep him at a comfortable distance, keep the Powerballs coming, and wait for the moment to go big.
How he plays
Kinto is the all-rounder. His basic chain is solid up close, and two of his specials are projectiles, so he is never stuck when someone backs off. The rhythm is simple: poke with Powerballs, punish a whiff with the chain, and send the Chaseball after anyone who runs.
What makes him more than a starter is the Ultimate Powerball. Charging it costs your whole energy bar and leaves you slow while you build it, but the payoff is huge. Learn when the room is too busy to punish you, and that is when you charge.
Specials
Powerballs
W5 energy per shot
A quick energy ball. keep tapping the key and Kinto keeps throwing, one after another, for as long as your energy holds out. Cheap, fast, and the best way to control space. Powerballs can be guided, by holding ↑ or ↓ while firing to nudge them towards targets. They can also be focused or spread wide to hit everyone by holding ← or → while firing.
6-hit Combo
D + ← or →10 energy
A six-stage combo that punishes an enemy and sends them flying on the final hit. Once it connects it carries the target through the whole thing. Use it when someone is staggered or has just whiffed. Starting it into a blocking opponent is asking to be punished.
Chaseball
D + ↓25 energy
A homing ball that hunts the nearest enemy for several seconds. Throw it into a crowd and forget about it. It is the move that stops people running, and it keeps working while you do something else. The Chaseball can be guided, by holding ← or → while firing to nudge them towards targets ahead of or behind you. Just remember Valrik's shield sends it straight back.
Ultimate Powerball
D + ↑ (hold) drains your whole bar to charge
Hold to charge. Energy drains the entire time, so a full charge costs everything you have. Once its fully charged, you'll know when, use A throw it. Anyone caught in the impact is pinned for the duration and takes damage the whole time. It soaks up hits while it travels too. The biggest single move on the roster, and the slowest to set up.
Ultimate Powerball
Basic attacks & natural chain
Tap A and each hit that lands flows into the next. Miss, and the chain stops.
Jab
Second jab
Standing kick
Jump spin kick
The spin kick is the finisher. It knocks down, which is your cue to either back off and Powerball, or step in with the 6-hit Combo as they get up.
In the air, A = Flying kick Sprint, then A = Heavy spin kick that launches Sprint, jump, then in the air, A = Heavy flying kick
Natural combos
Specials or attacks that flow straight into the next:
6-Hit Combo→Air Attack
6-Hit Combo→Sprint, then Air Attack
6-Hit Combo→Sprint Attack
6-Hit Combo→Powerballs
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
Cheap, spammable projectile pressure
A homing move that punishes running
The biggest ultimate in the game
Nothing about him is hard to learn
Weaknesses
No armour of his own. Every hit staggers him
Powerballs bounce off idle armour and shields
The ultimate leaves you empty and exposed
Outranged by a good archer
Matchups
vs Feng
He is faster than you up close and his arc kicks break your block. Do not try to win the brawl. Keep him at Powerball range and let the Chaseball chase. If he throws the disc, it homes just like yours, so move.
vs Rostam
Your Powerballs are exactly the kind of light hit his armour shrugs off. Lead with the finisher of your chain or a sprint attack to crack it, then follow up with rapid hits. Never charge the Ultimate in front of his beam.
vs Valrik
The worst matchup for a projectile fighter. His shield reflects Powerballs and the Chaseball right back at you, and protects him from your Ultimate Powerball. The shield is front-only though. Get behind him and everything works again.
vs Freya
She outranges you and her Light Arrow cannot be blocked. Close the distance in bursts and pummel her with melee attacks. Her ground bombs go off on any touch, so watch where you sprint.
Quick tips
Rounds start with half an energy bar. Do not open with the Ultimate. Build first.
Chaseball, then chain. The ball keeps them busy while you close in.
If your Powerballs are bouncing off someone, stop throwing and switch to the chain finisher.
